An NH35 mod: the parts checklist before you buy

Plan a documented NH35 assembly by checking the case, dial, hands, holder and crown as a system.

Plan the parts as a complete assembly. A listing that mentions NH35 does not resolve every dial, hand, holder or crown detail. Record the exact variant and supplier reference for each item before ordering.

Component Question to resolve
Movement Which exact calibre and hand-height option is supplied?
Case Which movement and holder is it designed around?
Holder or spacer Is it included, and does it support the intended dial?
Dial Are diameter, feet and date window documented for this combination?
Hands Are mounting dimensions, lengths and vertical clearances confirmed?
Crown and stem Are their references and sealing arrangements suitable for this case?
Crystal and back Are they supplied installed, with enough clearance for the complete assembly?
Strap Are lug width, attachment type and spring bars specified?

Read drawings before descriptions

The maker's sheet includes casing, dial, hand-fitting and stem drawings. Use those drawings with the parts supplier's own dimensions. Where a listing leaves a measurement out, ask rather than assuming a part used in another build is interchangeable.

Decide what arrives assembled

A case supplied with crystal, bezel and seals installed involves different work from a bare case. A kit with a pre-fitted dial and hands also differs from a collection of loose components. List what you will actually need to do, then identify the appropriate tools and instructions for those tasks.

Plan a stop point

Stop if a component needs force, the stem release procedure is unclear or hands touch one another, the dial or crystal. Do not trim a stem from a guessed measurement. Obtain the component maker's procedure or use a professional for fitting and finishing.

Opening a watch can void its warranty and its water resistance. Water-resistance testing needs proper equipment. A completed assembly that ticks is not evidence of sealing or reliable operation.

Use the movement-size guide to understand the drawing labels and the comparison checker to identify published differences before buying.
